Our story

Natural stone, restored by the person you hired

Marble & Stone Revival is a specialist natural stone restoration company based in London and working across the Home Counties. The firm was founded by Marius Surcel, a craftsman whose working life has been spent polishing, honing, repairing and sealing marble, limestone, travertine, terrazzo, granite, onyx and slate in private residences, heritage buildings and premium commercial spaces.

We were built on a simple observation. Most stone restoration in London is quoted by a salesman and delivered by a team the client never met at the quote stage. By the time anyone notices a problem, the person who signed off the method is somewhere else. That is the gap we close. Every quote is surveyed and priced by Marius in person, and every project is led and supervised by him from the first site visit to the final aftercare handover. The crew who carry out the work are a small in-house team trained to his standard, not rotating subcontractors.

We do not outsource restoration to third-party labour. We quote one project at a time, scale the crew to the scope, and our diary typically runs two to six weeks ahead. That discipline is what keeps the finish, the programme and the documentation consistent from the initial survey through to the final sealer, whoever is holding the polisher on a given day.

How we work

Every project runs on the same five steps

  1. 01

    Site visit, free

Marius attends in person. We identify the stone precisely, run a water-droplet porosity test, agree the finish level you want, and talk through the programme of works. On complex heritage or commercial projects we leave with a written method statement.

  2. 02

    Written quote

A clear written quote follows within 48 hours. You see the scope, the stone-by-stone method, the programme, the price, and anything that is excluded. No work begins until you have accepted it in writing.

  3. 03

    Protection and containment

On day one, the work zone is sealed off behind masking and door containment. Furniture is relocated or protected. Dust extraction and water containment are installed before any tool touches the floor.

  4. 04

    Restoration

Marius carries out every stage: deep clean, grinding if required, honing, polishing or sealing. Test patches are signed off before the full floor is committed. Progress is documented at each stage.

  5. 05

    Handover and aftercare

The property is left cleaner than we found it. You receive a written aftercare guide: the exact sealer used, cleaners to use, cleaners to avoid, and realistic re-seal cadence.

Marius Surcel, founder and lead craftsman. Marius leads every project personally, from the first site visit through sign-off and aftercare. He works across marble, limestone, travertine, terrazzo, granite, onyx, slate and period ceramic, with particular strength in heritage and listed-building work.

  • Hands-on stone restoration specialist, London and the Home Counties.
  • Specialisms: marble polishing, limestone honing, travertine repair, terrazzo grinding, onyx finishing, heritage and listed work.
  • Approach: one project at a time, founder-led, documented at every stage, no third-party subcontracting.
  • Works alongside interior designers, architects, main contractors and conservation officers where the brief requires it.

The crew. Alongside Marius, a small in-house team of trained craftsmen carry out the work on site. They are trained to his method, equipped with our own dust-controlled diamond system, and only deployed on projects Marius has personally quoted and surveyed. On larger installations the crew scales up; on delicate heritage pieces Marius works the piece himself. Either way, the standard and the documentation are identical.
