Stone restoration in Holland Park

Honed Calacatta kitchen island restored in a Holland Park villa

Holland Park's Italianate stucco villas and the surrounding Campden Hill and Addison Road enclaves contain some of west London's most considered stone interiors: full-slab Calacatta kitchens, honed limestone pool surrounds and restored period marble bathrooms. We work across Holland Park on long-cycle private residential projects, often alongside interior designers and architects during and after fit-out.

Holland Park is a different kind of stone environment to the rest of central London. The Italianate stucco villas around Holland Park Avenue, Addison Road and Campden Hill are considerably larger than a typical Kensington townhouse, and the interiors tend to be correspondingly ambitious: full-slab Calacatta kitchen islands, honed limestone spa and pool surrounds, book-matched Statuario bathrooms, and large-format porcelain running across open-plan reception spaces. The work is often technical, the tolerances are tight, and the finishes matter.

Our Holland Park work concentrates around four areas. Kitchen worktop restoration on very large Calacatta and Statuario slabs, including etch removal, scratch removal, and re-honing to match the original factory finish without losing register across the book-match. Floor restoration across full-house honed limestone and large-format porcelain, usually in open-plan ground floors where a consistent even hone across hundreds of square metres is essential. Pool surround and wet area maintenance on honed limestone and travertine, with particular attention to edge-sealing at drainage lines where failed sealers lead to etching. And full-refurbishment bathroom restoration in period and contemporary marble, typically commissioned by an interior designer during or at the end of a larger fit-out.

Most of our Holland Park projects run on longer cycles than the rest of our work, frequently in coordination with an interior designer, architect or main contractor, either during fit-out for the final floor hone, or six to twelve months post-handover for corrective finishing. We adapt our process to match. Full dust-controlled diamond extraction, full protection on all shared spaces, and fully documented method statements before mobilisation.

Marius is on every Holland Park job in person, and we do not subcontract any part of the restoration work. We are fully insured with Hiscox (£2M public liability, £10M employers) and carry the full certification set required by W11 and W14 interior designers, architects and main contractors.
