Accessibility statement
How we build for as many visitors as possible, and how to tell us if something does not work.
Last updated: 1 April 2026.
Our commitment
We have designed and built this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including those using assistive technology such as screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, or screen magnifiers. We aim for compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
What should work
- Every page can be navigated by keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline on interactive elements.
- All content images have descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked as decorative.
- Headings are used in logical order (H1 followed by H2, H2 followed by H3 where relevant).
- Link text describes where the link goes, without generic phrases like "click here".
- Forms have clear labels, error messages, and are operable by keyboard.
- Colour contrast meets or exceeds WCAG 2.1 AA on body text and interactive elements.
- Pages work without JavaScript for the core reading experience. JavaScript is used only for progressive enhancement such as image galleries and filtering.
- Pages are responsive and usable on mobile devices from 320 pixels wide upwards.
Known limitations
We are honest about what is not yet perfect. At the date of this statement:
- Some older before-and-after images may not yet include detailed descriptions of what the image shows. We are working through these as part of ongoing maintenance.
- The embedded map on the contact page is a third-party component and may not be fully navigable by screen reader. Telephone, email and WhatsApp contact options are provided as accessible alternatives.
Our testing approach
Our current accessibility focus is on keyboard navigation, semantic HTML, image alt text, colour contrast, and responsive layout. We welcome feedback from users of assistive technology, and we will extend our testing coverage as the site evolves. If you use a specific screen reader or assistive tool and find a page that does not work, please contact us and we will prioritise the fix.
Supported browsers
The latest and previous major versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. Older browsers may work but are not actively tested.
Reporting an accessibility problem
If you find a page or feature that is not accessible, please tell us. We take accessibility reports seriously and aim to fix issues within a reasonable time.
Email info@marblestonerevival.co.uk with the page URL and a short description of the issue. If you would rather speak to us, please call +44 7429 034 860 during business hours. We respond to accessibility reports within two working days.
Enforcement
If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility issue, you can contact the Equality and Human Rights Commission at equalityhumanrights.com.
Changes to this statement
We update this page when the site changes in a way that affects accessibility, or at least annually. The effective date at the top of the page will always reflect the latest version.
